One Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash On Oakland Road; One Of 12 Crashes Monday

SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – One person was transported to an area hospital following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Oakland Road and Legacy Drive Monday night, just one of 12 crashes in Robertson County Monday.

The Springfield Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, and law enforcement personnel responded to the scene, the first call coming into 911 at 9:13 p.m.

The crash left a significant debris field scattered across the roadway, forcing the closure of Oakland Road for about an hour while officers investigated the crash and crews worked to clear the scene. Officials indicated that the injuries sustained were not believed to be life-threatening.

The collision was one of an unusually high number of crashes reported across Robertson County on Monday. According to available information, at least 12 motor vehicle accidents were reported countywide throughout the day.

Despite the elevated number of crashes, no life-threatening injuries were reported in any of the incidents, and most involved only minor damage or minor injuries. The reason for the spike in crashes is unclear. Unlike many high-volume crash days, there were no significant weather issues reported across the county that would explain the increase.
