ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – An accident involving at least two vehicles and a truck pulling a camper trailer has taken one life.

red truck semi wreckThe accident occurred around 3PM at mile marker 101 on I-65. One child was taken to Vanderbilt via ground and one of the drivers was LifeFlighted to Vanderbilt.

Both were listed in stable condition. Southbound lanes were still closed as of 7:30PM. One witness said the camper crossed the median and flipped. Millersville Fire department were the first to arrive at the scene.

UPDATE: A truck and camper traveling North on I-65 crossed the median and struck a 2002 Buick traveling in the southbound lane. Inside the Buick was Grace A. Delmotte, 69, of Cottontown, officials say the impact killed her instantly.

Also traveling southbound was a Volkswagen driven by Maureen Goede of Florida with two passengers, a 7 year old boy and a 4 year old girl. They were also struck by the camper but all three were uninjured, according to officials.

helicopter semi wreckThe truck/camper then overturned and came to a rest on its side across interstate 65 southbound.

The accident is still under investigation and charges are pending.

 

camper semi wreckUPDATE:  Laura H. Hickman (age 39) of Springfield (driver) along with her daughter Emily (age 10) were occupants in the (Dodge Ram) truck pulling the camper/trailer northbound on Interstate 65; both were listed as injured according to THP.
