One Lifeflighted After Head-On Crash Near Betts Road
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE, (Smokey Barn News) – Two people were transported to area hospitals Wednesday evening following a head-on collision at the intersection of Old Highway 431 and Betts Road. MAP Early reports indicated multiple injuries and one possible ejection, leaving one patient in critical condition who was airlifted from the scene. A female minor was among the injured. We are still waiting for a final report from officials, so we are not certain of the total number of individuals transported; however, early reports indicate that the number was two.
The medical helicopter landed a block over from the crash site on Tom Austin Highway near the intersection with Mount Zion Road, touching down in the middle of Tom Austin Highway to make the pickup. Both Old Highway 431 and Tom Austin Highway were shut down for more than an hour while patients were treated, and the scene was investigated.
The White House Community Volunteer Fire Department, the Greenbrier Fire Department, the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, Robertson County EMS, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Coopertown Police Department, and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. As soon as THP releases additional information, we will bring it to you.
