One Lifeflighted Following Hwy25/49 Crash Early Wednesday

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Two women were transported to area hospitals following a crash at the Hwy 25/49 split between Springfield and Cross Plains early Wednesday. MAP

One woman was Lifeflighted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville and the other via ground (non-emergency) to Skyline Medical Center, according to Cross Plains Fire Chief Tommy Jackson.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash which occurred just before 1am. The Hwy 25/49 split was closed or reduced to one lane during the process of the investigation and removal of the vehicle which took several hours.

The vehicle was wedged tightly in some trees which delayed the removal process. The road was fully reopened around 3:30am.

The Cross Plains Fire Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and Robertson County EMS all responded to the crash.

The names of the occupants, updates on their condition and cause of the crash has not been released.
