One Transported After Kitchen Fire in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – One person was transported to an area hospital with smoke inhalation following a fire in the 600 block of 10th Avenue East in Springfield between Rose Hill Ct and Josephine St, not far from downtown Springfield Monday evening, the first call coming into 911 at 9:18 PM. The structure is a duplex. The Springfield Fire Department responded quickly and prevented the fire from spreading to the secondary unit. It’s what firefighters call a “good stop.”
The primary unit where the fire occurred sustained fire, smoke, and water damage, and power was pulled, making the unit not livable but thanks to the great efforts of our local firefighters, the unit is repairable. According to officials, the fire started in the kitchen. The cause of the fire has not been released.
