GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Veterans Motorplex at the Rim in Greenbrier is now taking applications for summertime part-time hourly, salary, and volunteer positions.

“Not all positions are hiring immediately but we are accepting applications for all positions. If your honest, hardworking, and like being around an exciting crowd and your Saturdays are open, this could be for you.” owner Jerry Criswell.

Immediate Positions Available

Concession Staff:

Cooks, Helpers, Cashiers. Fast pace but for all ages but Students as young as 14 can start to learn the value of working for their own money.

Cashiers –  Mature adults will be needed to fill these positions as we are changing our concessions to a cafeteria-style concession stand.

Scorer: (Must be able to climb several sets of steps to reach the scores tower)

Must have good eyesight & be quick at writing with legible handwriting and have a general knowledge of Racing. (Willing to train)

Scorers Helper:

Must have a general knowledge of Racing (Willing to train)

Tech Staff Must have good knowledge of racing and inner workings of an engine and suspension…

PA Announcer:

Color commentator – (Hours Saturdays 2pm – 10pm)

Good for someone young that loves racing or even a DJ looking for a side gig etc..

Must have great announcing skills, be entertaining and like to be around people

Must be willing to spend time to learn the Veteran Motorplex needs to promote our track sponsors and our schedule, our local drivers and their sponsors. Must have computer skills, be able to respond to emails, texts, and do social media.

Photographer:

Must have your own equipment and be able to use high-speed photography.

Mascot:

Best suited for a young energetic person that loves to entertain especially children, Male or Female Hours 5-9 Saturday nights

Pit Steward:

Get the cars in the Pits lined up and ready to go onto the track and help our staff with any needs 3:30 – 10 pm

Jumpy House Attendee:

Attend to our FREE jumpy house and keep it safe for our smaller fans (4-10pm)

Female attendant:

Help our staff as needed then assist our fans and activities during the evening and do restroom maintenance checks hourly (varies 4 – 10pm)

Male attendant:

Help our staff as needed then assist our fans and activities during the evening and do restroom maintenance checks hourly (varies 4 – 10pm)

Grounds personnel:

Trash pickup after races, weed eating lawn cutting etc.. (This can be several days a week)

Female Staff helper:

Help our staff as needed then assist our fans and activities during the evening and do restroom maintenance checks hourly (flexible)

Male Staff helper:

Help our staff as needed then assist our fans and activities during the evening and do restroom maintenance checks hourly (flexible)

Volunteer Positions are always available in these areas.

*You can get your entire immediate family in the races for FREE each week if you volunteer

Female Staff helper:

Help our staff as needed then assist our fans and activities during the evening and do restroom maintenance checks hourly (flexible)

Male Staff helper:

Help our staff as needed then assist our fans and activities during the evening and do restroom maintenance checks hourly (flexible)

Jumpy House Attendee:

Attend our FREE Jumpy house for our fans and keep it safe for our smaller fans

Trophy Queens:

Present trophies to our race winners and make appearances at parades etc… Should be at least in High School to do this by yourself.

Pit Steward:

Get the cars in the Pits lined up and ready to go onto the track and help our staff with any needs 3:30 – 10 pm

Track Crew:

Help keep the track prepared and safe for racing

Scale Tech helper:

Must be physically fit! Weigh the race cars using roll-on electronic scales plus help with tech during the day and after races.

Home of Tennessee’s Family Action Track! Racing Saturday nights March-October on a fast 1/4 mile high-banked asphalt bullring…fun for the whole family!

Veterans Motorplex at the Rim (formerly Highland Rim Speedway) is a 1/4 mile oval asphalt track located off Exit 104 on I-65, just 20 minutes north of Nashville, TN.

Built in 1961 originally as a dirt track, Highland Rim Speedway has played host to several NASCAR legends, including the Alabama Gang. In addition, Highland Rim Speedway is the site of country music legend and racer Marty Robbins’ first racing victory.

Veteran’s Motorplex races the Pro 8 Late Model Series, Sportsman, Super Stock, Pure Stock, Legends, Bandoleros, Ridge runners, Baby Grand, Rim Runner, and Pro-4 Mod divisions.

The Speedway has abundant parking both for fans and racers, and can accommodate haulers of all sizes. Race fans enjoy the racing action in the beautiful all-aluminum seating bleachers, and those needing special assistance can enjoy the racing action from the elevated wheelchair platform connected to the front stretch grandstands.

Fans and teams alike can enjoy mouth-watering food and drinks from our on-site concession stands located both in the grandstand areas and the pit area. Children enjoy the play area near the entrance gate that features several inflatable bounce houses, and everyone can get great souvenir items as well as photos and videos of the racing action at the Souvenir Alley Souvenir Stand!
