Police Seek Greenbrier Man In Violent Springfield Home Invasion

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Police are now releasing the identity of a second suspect for his alleged involvement in a violent home-invasion in Springfield Wednesday evening.

The suspect is identified as Blayne Basler of Greenbrier Tennessee. Pictured above, Basler allegedly fled the scene and is currently at large. Basler is 5’11, 165 lbs with blue eyes and brown hair.

Police say Basler should be considered Armed and Dangerous. He was last seen in the Dickerson Pike Area of Nashville.

According to police,  on Tuesday evening around 11:45 pm, officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a home on Batts Blvd in reference to shots fired.

During their investigation,  police found that two individuals posing as Bail Bondsmen forced their way into the residence, tied everyone in the residence up with zip ties and attempted to rob the homeowners.

During the incident, a female inside the residence was shot one time in the arm. Another victim inside the residence was struck several times with a weapon.

Both victims were treated and released from Northcrest Hospital.

Officers arrested 34-year-old William Troup for Especially Aggravated Burglary and Criminal Attempt to Commit First Degree Murder. A second suspect is still at large but police have not released a description.
