PORTLAND TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –  A Portland (TN) massage therapist is facing serious charges following an investigation triggered by allegations of inappropriate touching by at least two women.

69-year-old James D. Hall of Portland Tennessee, a licensed massage therapist who operates Sunrise to Sunset Massage Therapy located at 124 Main Street has been charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual battery, according to the Portland Police Department.

According to Portland Police, a victim filed a report alleging that during a massage session, Hall had inappropriately contacted her genital area multiple times, including digital penetration, as well as making verbal sexual advances.

Portland Police say that on February 23rd another victim filed a report alleging that during a massage session, Hall had contacted her genital area, inappropriately, inside her underwear. This particular victim experienced this event at the beginning of February and came forward after overhearing a conversation at the grocery store of someone else experiencing a similar incident.

According to Portland police, Detectives were able to obtain evidence that corroborated the allegations. During an interview of the suspect, police say statements were made by him that implicated him in at least one of the reported events. When confronted with the allegations, Portland Police say Hall stated his actions were “Too much”, and that it was a “Failure on his part”.

Hall was arrested on February 25th and transported to the Sumner County Jail, where he remains housed on a $100,000 bond. He is charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual battery.
