“Ricky” McCroy Of Adams Dies, He Was 61
ADAMS TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Richard Charles “Ricky” McCroy, age 61, of Adams, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
The City Of Adams released the following statement about McCroy’s death:
“It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Richard “Ricky” McCroy. A phenomenal man who was extremely dedicated to the City of Adams through his work at the Adams-Cedar Hill Water System and a pillar in our community. There are no words to express the loss we all feel right now as our thoughts and prayers go out to Ricky’s family and friends.”
Mr. McCroy was born April 20, 1956 in Robertson County to the late Hunter and Carlene Jackson McCroy, Sr. He was a Class of 1974 graduate of Jo Byrns High School, was a graduate of Austin Peay State University and was the Manager of the Adams-Cedar Hill Water System until his retirement. He was also a member of the Adams Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 26, 2017 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Isaac Bourne and Brother Marvin Crouch officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 12-8pm and again on Monday from 10am until the hour of service at 2pm.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the American Heart Association. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell. Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
Adams City Hall will be closed Monday, June 26, 2017 in observance of Ricky’s passing.
