RIDGETOP TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Ridgetop Mayor Herbert Clayton Bollinger was arrested Friday evening and is currently incarcerated in the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield.

If any municipal issues should arise while Bollinger is incarcerated, Tim Shaw is the city’s Vice Mayor.

According to the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, 52-year-old Bollinger was taken into custody after Deputies responded to a domestic in progress at a residence on Betts Road in Greenbrier just before 8 pm Friday evening. The Greenbrier Police Department assisted.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, when Deputies arrived they observed a female, identified as Herbert Bollinger’s wife, running out to the roadway.  She told Deputies that Mr. Bollinger was barricaded in a room within the residence.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Mrs. Bollinger told Deputies there was an aggressive dog and multiple weapons inside the room with Mr. Bollinger.

According to the incident report, Mrs. Bollinger told Deputies that, “she and their 2 children had locked themselves in a bedroom of the residence after a verbal altercation with Bollinger put her and her children in fear of their safety.”

Mrs. Bollinger also told Deputies that Mr. Bollinger was under the influence of alcohol, the report further stated. Deputies were able to successfully talk Mayor Bollinger out of the home where he was taken into custody without further incident.
