ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Four Scholarships were awarded to Robertson County graduating seniors on June 16, 2025 from the Robert Dale Broadrick Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established by his family to honor his memory after his accidental death in July 2024. Robert Dale was an active member of the JR-ROTC and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was dedicated to his family, community, and the military.

The $5,000 scholarships were awarded to Lily Dunbar, Chase Gammon, Dalton Lee Gregory, and Jennifer Huipe. Each recipient exhibited dedication to continuing their education and commitment to the community.

Lily Dunbar will attended Cumberland University to study nursing, Chase Gammon is attending TCAT for electrical, Dalton Gregory will attend Volunteer State to study engineering and surveying and Jennifer Huipe will begin Tennessee Tech University to study Computer Science.

Robert Dale Broadrick tragically lost his life in July of 2024 in a mowing accident at his home on New Hall Road in Greenbrier. The 16-year-old was operating a riding mower when it overturned into a pond and pinned him underneath. Despite immediate efforts from family and first responders, Robert did not survive. MORE An Air Force Junior ROTC cadet and a student at East Robertson High School, Robert was known for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and big heart. His passing inspired the memorial scholarship now awarded in his name.

These scholarships will be awarded annually and are available to graduating seniors at East Robertson High School or a member of the Junior ROTC of Robertson County, Tennessee. For more information on the scholarship email [email protected].
