Robertson-Back To School Plan Update & Registration

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Robertson County Schools are releasing more information regarding the start of the 2020 school year as well as registration information.

Robertson County Schools has opened online registration for the 2020-2021 school year. All students will have two available options when registering for the first 9-weeks.

The first option will be typical in-person school attendance:

with regular hours. There will be health-related procedures and protocols established and expected of all students in order to access this option. These procedures are summarized in the registration process.

The second option is online virtual school participation:

This virtual school will be conducted by Robertson County Schools teachers and will NOT look like it did back in the spring of this year. Virtual students will be expected to log on and work with assigned online content, under the supervision of district teachers. Assignments will be given, assessments will be taken, and grades/credits will be awarded accordingly. Families choosing this option will have information sent to them prior to the first day of school.

A registration link for the new school year can be found at rcstn.net where the choice will be made between the in-school option and the virtual option. A description of both options will also be on the registration site. The registration deadline for either option is July 24th. This deadline is in place so that the proper number of teachers can be assigned and proper plans can be made based on numbers for both options.

Additionally, please note that the first day of school for grades 1-12 has been adjusted.

On August 12,13, and 14, one-third of the students returning to classroom studies will attend school on their assigned day (selected alphabetically)

August 12th – Last Names A – G
August 13th – Last Names H – O
August 14th – Last Names P – Z

to review procedures and protocols that will be needed for the first 9-weeks. Virtual school students and parents will be introduced to the on-line platform, procedures, and protocols during this time as well. On August 17, all instruction, both in-school and virtual, will begin. Kindergarten and Pre-K parents will be notified separately regarding these start dates.

Due to the ever-changing details of this situation, circumstances are fluid and the district’s pledge is to communicate transparently as needed. Thank you for your patience during this time.
