Robertson Co. Cold Weather Shelter Prepares To Open – Your Support Needed

Spoonsor a Bed, Food Donations, Meal Prep, Volunteers Needed

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – As winter temps and Holidays approach middle Tennessee, the Robertson County cold weather shelter “My Father’s House” hopes to open the facility mid-December 2024-2025 pending final renovations for showers and added sprinklers etc as well as final inspection and approval.

My Father’s House Mission is a Christian faith-based organization established to be the hands and feet of Christ.  They assist with safe temporary shelter and food and provide information of services available to anyone displaced.

MFHM continues to work with the State Fire Marshals Office and the Building Codes Office for the City of Springfield to make modifications to the facility at 101 10th Ave E, Springfield, TN.

“A major milestone has been achieved at MFHM. The building permit(s) have been approved and issued by the City! In addition, the prefabricated material for the sprinkler system was delivered this week to the building, and piping for the sprinklers is being installed! The crews will be starting on the ADA bathroom, etc. very soon. There are some unforeseen things we weren’t expecting in the rebuilding process.

MFHM will not be opening in November for the 2024-2025 season as they expect to still have significant construction activities in progress.

They will update their website as they get closer to December 1. Training dates for volunteers will also be communicated via their website, on Facebook and by email once they are
known.

The location of the Shelter is 101 10th Ave E, Springfield, TN MAP, and is directly behind Southside Drugstore. The Shelter has separate sleeping areas for men and women. Sorry, no pets are allowed.

Sponsor A Bed…

“If you are looking for a great cause this Christmas season to be a blessing to others, here’s your opportunity. Make a difference in someone’s life today and Sponsor A Bed…

$2000 sponsors a bed for an entire season. The process is simple. For 5 months of housing each person My Father’s House Mission helps requires approximately $2000 of financial resources. All we ask is that you gather friends and family together and sponsor a bed for one person.

We do know times are hard and it might not be possible for everyone to be able to donate $2,000 and we completely understand. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

You will become a lifeline to that individual in a most tangible way. But most of all you will have been the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to that person. Won’t you partner with us today? If prayers are all you can afford we graciously welcome your prayers too. We at MFHM Thank you all in advance and we appreciate you all greatly!”
