Robertson Co. Schools Announce Three New Key Leadership Appointments

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The Robertson County School District has announced three new key leadership appointments for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, with Theresa Chandler named as Principal of Coopertown Middle School, Jen Hayes as Principal of Cheatham Park Elementary School, and Jeff Haines as Assistant Principal of Springfield High School.

“We are pleased to announce that Theresa Chandler has been appointed to serve as principal of Coopertown Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year.” 

Theresa Chandler earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Tennessee State University and has been in education for 31 years. She enjoyed the past 5 years as principal of Cheatham Park Elementary School. Throughout her career, she served as an elementary, middle school, and high school educator and a high school assistant principal. Teaching both special education and regular education classes across various grade levels has allowed her to develop a versatile skill set and a commitment to inclusive education practices.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jen Hayes to the principalship at Cheatham Park Elementary School.”

Mrs. Hayes earned her master’s degree in leadership at Trevecca University and her Education Specialist Degree through Union University. She has worked in education for 25 years as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and most recently, as the assistant principal at Greenbrier Elementary. Throughout her career, Mrs. Hayes has focused on building a foundation of growth with her students, believing in the ability of every individual to meet and exceed high expectations.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Haines as assistant principal at Springfield High School.”

“Mr. Haines, originally from Rockport, Indiana and graduated from Western Kentucky with a major in Business Education and a minor in Business Administration. He started his teaching career at Springfield High School in 2006 where he was assistant boys’ basketball coach, assistant baseball coach and taught accounting, banking and finance and personal finance. He received his Masters in Educational Leadership from Austin Peay State University. In 2012, he became assistant principal at Springfield High but left in 2016 to become principal of Jo Byrns High School for the last 8 years. Mr. Haines has been married to Olivia for 13 years and has two children, Ava is 11 and Nate is 7.
