Robertson County Republican Party To Host Reagan Day & Candidate Forum
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) The Robertson County Republican Party will host its annual Reagan Day and Candidate Forum on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at The Center, 401 Main Street, Springfield.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m., and the program begins at 6:00 p.m. with music provided by Springfield’s own Mayor Buzzy Poole. The evening will honor the legacy of President Ronald Reagan.

The event will open with a welcome from RCRP Chairperson Christine Apple, followed by an opening prayer led by Tommy Vallejos.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Department will present the colors, and Sheriff Michael Van Dyke will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Former Tennessee Representative Terry Lynn Weaver will then perform the National Anthem, followed by dinner catered by North Nash Catering, served promptly at 6:15 p.m.

Tennessee Representative Sabi “Doc” Kumar will address the significance of Reagan Day and the importance of conservative Republican values in today’s political climate.

The evening will also include recognition of Mrs. Jan Gammon for her leadership in shaping the Robertson County Republican Party. Gammon’s tireless service and work in Tennessee state politics left a lasting legacy that continues to influence local Republican efforts.

A candidate forum will follow, hosted by State Senator Kerry Roberts, featuring Republican candidates for Tennessee’s Seventh Congressional District, including:

Following the forum, attendees will participate in a straw poll to gauge support for the congressional candidates.
The evening concludes with a silent auction and live auction conducted by Ed Cope, with proceeds benefiting the RCRP PAC, which supports local Republican initiatives.
The program will close with a final prayer, ending a night of community engagement and conservative fellowship.

The Robertson County Republican Party meets monthly on the first Saturday of each month at Purpose Life Church, 805 Memorial Blvd, Springfield. Meetings begin at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast served. The public is welcome — membership is not required to attend.
