Robertson County Schools Announces New Head of School Bus Operations
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News): After nearly a decade of service, Joshua Hinerman has stepped down as head of transportation for Robertson County Schools. Hinerman has accepted a new position with the Tennessee Department of Education, where he will serve as State Student Transportation Manager.

Hinerman joined Robertson County Schools in 2015 following roles with Wilson County Schools and Maury County, bringing more than a decade of experience in pupil transportation and operations. During his tenure, he oversaw transportation for thousands of students, working closely with school officials and the community to maintain safe and efficient service. Smokey Barn News interviewed Hinerman on the day he started as the Transportation Director for Robertson County Schools back in 2015. The full interview can be seen here.
Succeeding him as the new head of transportation is Kenny Hardaway. Local readers may remember Hardaway from his time as assistant director of the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency several years ago. He has since continued his work in public service and now assumes leadership of the district’s transportation operations.
On his final day with Robertson County Schools, Hinerman presented Smokey Barn News with a School Bus Champion Award, a wood plaque recognizing our coverage of school transportation matters over the past 10 years. The award was given in acknowledgment of efforts to communicate important information to the community accurately.
