School District Elementary Choir Debuts This Weekend
COOPERTOWN TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The first-ever Robertson County Schools Elementary Mass Choir Concert will occur on Saturday, April 12, at 4 p.m., in the Coopertown Elementary School auditorium.
Under the direction of Heritage Elementary Music Specialist Sharon Burchett, approximately 90 elementary school students will participate in this inaugural event.
Music teachers from RCS elementary schools have collaborated in this project, which has generated a lot of excitement and enthusiasm on the part of teachers and students alike. Preparations and practices have been taking place for more than a month in anticipation of Saturday’s event.
“These kids had never met prior to this,” said Burchett, “and now they’re singing in a large choir together.” They will continue their preparation with an all-day practice on Saturday prior to the 4 p.m. concert.
All are invited to this free presentation and are encouraged to come out, not only to support these young singers, but also to enjoy the medley of music they will be presenting.
