Search Crews Find Human Remains In Springfield TN
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Springfield Police are investigating after human remains were found in a wooded area between Tom Austin Highway and William Batson Blvd in Springfield Tuesday morning.
The remains were found while search teams from the Springfield Police Department, both Robertson and Sumner County Emergency Management, the Springfield Fire Department, and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a search near Tom Austin Highway and William Batson Blvd. MAP
The remains were sent to the State of Tennessee Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.
The incident is being investigated by the Springfield Police Department Detectives.
A helicopter, provided by Highland Rim Aviation a flight school in Springfield, was used to give ground teams a birds-eye view of the area to better organize the search on the ground.
“Highland Rim Aviation was requested by the Robertson County Sheriff’s Department to fly our helicopter, a Schweizer 300C, (pictured below) with one of their officers around the wood’s so that they could get a view of the terrain in order to look for a missing person,” said Highland Rim Aviation owner Tom Jones. “We here at Highland Rim Aviation will always support the Springfield Police Department and Robertson County Sheriffs Department anytime should they request Helicopter Support.”
