SPECIAL WEATHER ALERT AND A MESSAGE FROM ROBERTSON COUNTY EMA

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – FIRE ALERT: Robertson County has already experienced several brush fires today due to high wind conditions. These winds can cause fires to spread rapidly and become dangerous in a very short amount of time. The Robertson County Emergency Management Agency strongly encourages everyone to refrain from burning until weather conditions improve and become more favorable. Your cooperation helps protect lives, property, and first responders.

WEATHER ALERT: The National Weather Service reports that a strong storm system and powerful cold front are moving across Middle Tennessee, including Robertson County. This system is bringing very strong winds, with sustained winds around 25 to 35 mph and gusts that may reach or exceed 40 mph. The National Weather Service has issued high wind and hazardous weather alerts, warning that these conditions can bring down tree limbs, cause power outages, and dramatically increase wildfire danger.

Showers and storms are expected as the front moves through, followed by a rapid temperature drop. Conditions are expected to shift from unseasonably warm to much colder air, with temperatures falling to near or below freezing. This cold air will settle in over the next day or two and affect much of Tennessee.

Residents are urged to:

  • Avoid all outdoor burning during these windy conditions

  • Secure loose outdoor items

  • Use caution if traveling, especially in high-profile vehicles

  • Stay alert for changing weather conditions and possible additional advisories

Officials stress that wind-driven fires are one of the most dangerous fire scenarios, and now is not the time to burn. Continue to monitor Smokey Barn News for updates and follow guidance from Robertson County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service as this system moves through the area.
