Springfield Electric Plans Power Outage For Oakland Farms/Saddlebrook Subdivisions
Springfield Electric Department has scheduled a 45 minute emergency power outage at the Oakland Farms and Saddlebrook Subdivisions on Wednesday morning, August 27.
The power will be cut to both subdivisions simultaneously beginning at 7:45AM. The temporary power cut is needed to give power crews time to replace a main power cable that supplies power to the two neighborhoods.
According to Robert Gardner the Electric Utility Director, about 150 homes will be affected. The new cable is already in place so the procedure is just to simply switch over to it. Worst case scenario is the new cable fails and they continue using the old cable for a while longer but either way the power should be down for a very short time.
“We regret this inconvenience and will restore power as soon as possible. Thank you for you cooperation.”
