Springfield Grad Becomes Doctor, Eyes Vision For Her Hometown

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Robertson County, Smokey Barn News has been given the distinct honor of introducing, Dr. Jana Plant Socey, a 2012 graduate of Springfield High School that has returned home to serve her home town.

Dr. Jana Plant Socey has officially joined Drs. Reed & Wilkerson OD in Springfield, a roll created following Dr. David Reed retired. The firm is located on Willow St in Springfield, just a skip and a hop from the Robertson County Courthouse.

Dr. Jana Plant Socey is a Springfield native and graduated from Springfield High School in 2012. She completed her undergraduate studies at both the University of Tennessee Knoxville and Middle Tennessee State University and completed her doctorate at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. During optometry school, she achieved the Outstanding Clinical Award every year and attended a medical mission trip to Nicaragua. She completed externship training at Kelly Vision Center in Rivergate, TN, and at Pilkinton Eye Center in Nashville, TN.

Dr. Socey is involved with the American Optometric Association, Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, and the Middle TN Optometric Physicians Society. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Graham Socey, and they have an adorable chocolate lab, Harbor.

Dr. Socey is specially trained in primary care, contact lenses, ocular disease, and pre- and post-surgical care.

“I’m very excited to be back in my hometown to serve our wonderful community,” said Dr. Socey.
