Springfield Man Arrested After Shooting

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) -According to Springfield Police, just after 2:00 PM Friday afternoon police officers responded to a complaint of shots fired in the area of North Main Street.

Upon arrival, police discovered that an incident had occurred between John  Osborne age 18 of Springfield, TN, Taylor Ray Vinson age 22 of Springfield, TN and William Ryan Bell age 23 of Springfield, TN, the release said.

According to police, Osborne allegedly fired two gunshots at Taylor Vinson and William Bell at the intersection of 1st Ave and North Main Street. One round struck the hood of Osborne’s vehicle and the other round entered the business of Douglas Carlisle located at 70 North Main Street.

No one was injured during the incident.  A 9mm handgun was recovered at the scene.

Osborne was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

UPDATE: According to the Robertson County DA’s Office, the charges against Osborne were dropped without prejudice which means the charges could be brought back at a later date within the statute of limitations.
