Springfield Man Shot During Attempted Robbery Sunday

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A morning working on the pickup turned violent in Springfield Sunday when a man walked up, brandished a gun and demanded money.

Police tell Smokey Barn News that it was an attempted robbery. Three men were in a yard next to a home near the intersection of 20th Avenue and Blair St working on the engine of a pickup truck. Around 10:45AM a man in khaki shorts and a red shirt came out of no where, brandished a gun, and demanded money from one of the men.

Police say the victim ran and that’s when the suspect opened fire on him firing off several rounds. One of the rounds struck the victim in the leg as he ran. After firing his weapon, the suspect, described as a black make wearing khaki shorts and a red polo style shirt, short hair around the ears with spiked short deadlock style hair, fled the scene on foot towards 21st Ave.

The victim was transported to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, we do not know his condition at this time.
