Springfield Middle’s Theater Eye-Popping Restoration Tour

Ahead Of Beauty And The Beast Performance

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Years in the making, Springfield Middle School’s theater restoration project is complete. Smokey Barn News was invited by Wednesday evening for a sneak peek of this incredible project.

Originally built in 1938, the Springfield Middle School auditorium had seen better days. If the walls could talk they would tell a tale of country music singers, plays, town meetings and much more but after about 70 years of service, the auditorium was in need of major repairs.

Now the historic theater has been restored to its former glory and it’s nothing less than eye-popping. Take the guided tour with host, President of  the Robertson County Players and Director of the Beauty And The Beast play, Guy Stanley. As we walk through the newly restored theater, Stanley talks about the theater’s past present and future.

If you would like a first-hand look at the theater project, stop by on September 30th at 5:30PM for a Grand Opening Gala followed by the theater’s inaugural play “Beauty And The Beast. Curtain is at 7:00pm.

Two matinee performances will be presented on Sunday, October 1st at 1:30pm and 4:00pm. Two more evening performances will be presented on Thursday and Friday, October 5th and 6th at 7:00pm.

Based on the original Broadway production, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Junior is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance featuring some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.

Advance tickets are available online at TicketsNashville.com: adults $15/each and students $5/each. Tickets will also be available at the door: adults $18/each and students $5/each. For more information see the RCP Facebook page and/or website: www.robertsoncountyplayers.org.
