Springfield PD: Blair St Shooting Wednesday “Suspected Accidental”

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to officials in Springfield, a local man is expected to recover following what officials are calling an accidental shooting on Blair St Wednesday morning.

Springfield Police, Fire and Robertson County EMS were called to a home on Blair St in Springfield on Wednesday (August 2, 2023), the first call coming into 911 at 10:50 AM. MAP

“Springfield Police Department Officers responded to a 911 call for service (on) Blair Street concerning an individual that had received a gunshot wound. An individual was transported by Robertson County EMS – with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident was investigated by the Springfield Police Department and is suspected as accidental. The incident was isolated and no threat to the public exists at this time.” Natasha Tice Public Affairs Coordinator City of Springfield

As a precaution, Robertson County EMS and the Springfield Fire Department initially staged nearby while Springfield Police secured the location.

Once Springfield Police secured the scene, the Springfield Fire Department and Robertson County EMS units proceeded quickly with an advanced life support unit and a paramedic supervisor. Upon arrival, responders found a male adult with a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to Robertson County EMS.

“Fortunately, the gentleman was stable on scene and during transport to Skyline Medical Center,” said Brent Dyer, Robertson County EMS Director. “Springfield FD assisted in patient care and stabilization. As always, we appreciate the work of law enforcement to keep these scenes safe and controlled while we are treating those who are injured. Thank you from me personally to SPD and SFD for their teamwork.”
