SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The Walmart in Springfield was briefly evacuated following a bomb threat Saturday afternoon.

Officials tell Smokey Barn News that the threat was called in just before 5 pm. Walmart was evacuated while officials with the Springfield Fire Department and Springfield Police swept the building.

The Springfield Police Department will likely be leading the investigation. If you have any information about this crime you are encouraged to contact police.

Can the caller be caught? Through digital fingerprinting, law enforcement professionals have better tools to locate people that make bomb threats in recent years. According to the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office back in 2017, a Robertson County man pled guilty to conspiracy to commit terroristic threats after the agency identified him as a suspect when bomb threats were made to several schools.
