SPRINGFIELD: William A. Batson Parkway Extension Nears Opening
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The City of Springfield is announcing the near completion of the William A. Batson Parkway Extension, (MAP) which will soon be open to the public. The project connects William A. Batson Parkway to Memorial Blvd. and Tom Austin Highway, offering residents a convenient new route.
Ahead of the opening of this new roadway section, the city is introducing a new traffic configuration at the intersection of Blackpatch Drive and William A. Batson Parkway. To improve safety and manage traffic flow effectively, a four-way stop will be implemented at this intersection. This change is designed to enhance safety in the Blackpatch area by promoting safer travel and preparing for the anticipated increase in traffic on the new bypass.
To facilitate a smooth transition, advance warning signs will be placed around the area leading up to the full implementation of the new traffic pattern.
The City of Springfield appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this transition. Drivers are encouraged to stay aware of the upcoming traffic configuration and prepare to follow all posted signs and signals once it takes effect.
