Springfield’s Free Movie Fridays Continue with Mufasa: The Lion King

SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – The City of Springfield has announced two upcoming outdoor movie presentations. Coming up in just a few days, on August 15, they’ll be showing Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King, and in September, Inside Out 2.

WHEN:  August 15. WHERE:  Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 2623 South Main Street, with showtime set for 7 p.m. DIRECTIONS  Food trucks will be on site offering donuts, hot dogs, specialty beverages, and other items for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating.

The park’s splash pad, located next to the screening area, will remain open during its regular hours until 7 p.m., giving children a chance to cool off before the movie begins.

The Free Movie Fridays series is a partnership between the Springfield Parks and Recreation Department and local businesses to provide free, family-friendly movies for the community. The most recent event drew an estimated 200 attendees.
