After they cleared the house the hunters rescued the family dogs and moved the vehicles away from the home. Their swift actions earned praise from Chief Tucker, who described their efforts as “magnificent.”

The home was occupied by a couple, including a pregnant woman, who were not present at the time of the fire. While most pets were safely rescued, a cat remains unaccounted for but is presumed to have escaped.

Firefighters from the Adams Fire Department and North Robertson Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, alongside the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, Robertson County EMS, and the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency.

According to Chief Tucker, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, with no current indication of suspicious activity. Investigators plan to assess the scene further during daylight hours to look for an official cause.

Cedar Hill Mayor John Edwards was on scene providing Pizza and Gatorade to first responders.

The family declined assistance from the American Red Cross, suggesting they have local support. Should the family decide to reach out to the community for assistance, we will bring it to you.  Updates will be added to this report.
