Police search for a suspect in Millersville

The Sumner County Task Force tried to stop a vehicle this morning around 8:00AM on I65 and a chase ensued.  The chase ended up on Bethel Rd near I65, the suspects vehicle went off the road struck a tree and into a yard. According to Millersville Police Chief Ronnie Williams, Greenbrier, Ridgetop and Millersville police and agencies responded to assist but the Sumner County Drug Task Force was in charge.

After the vehicle stopped, two of three suspects,  Kati Bunker, 24, and Jerome Inmon, 23, both of Bowling Green were apprehended and have been charged with joyriding and evading arrest. According to Millersville Police Chief Ronnie Williams and Kelly Murphy, Director of the 18th Judicial District Drug Task Force, the third and final suspect is still at large and police are at the moment searching the wooded area between Bethel Rd and I65 in Millersville.

A witness at the heart of it all had a bit of a scare as one of the suspects and an officer ran right at her car….
“I was on my way to work this morning on Bethel Road when I saw a police car coming…I tried to pull to the side of the road but I couldn’t go too far over because of a ditch, and then I stopped.  Then I noticed the police officer jump out of his car chasing a man coming directly at my car.  I panicked but there was nothing I could really do except make sure my doors were locked (especially since I had my 4 year old in the backseat).  The man started throwing things out of his pockets and thankfully the man and the officer kept running by my car.  After gaining composure, I drove on”

Another witness told Smokey, “A car came by my house well over 100 mile an hour, cops right on them they wrecked in the S turns…. I think someone must have jumped out and run, we have kids here and are concerned!!

The Sumner County task force has towed the vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male about 200 lbs with dreadlocks a white tank-top and blue jeans. If you see the suspect call Millersville Police at 615-859-2758 or call 911.

Around 12:30PM an incident occurred in the area, as we understand it a woman was assaulted by a suspect with dreadlocks, we are still waiting to confirm a connection between this suspect. The suspect may have taken a vehicle. The vehicle may be a 1990 black Buick Regal LP: 918HCP
