TEC’s Recycling Roundup & On-Site Paper Shredding Event Comes to Robertson County!

Area Residents Invited to Clean Up, Drive Through, and Drop Off

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Get ready to clean up and recycle! The Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC) is gearing up for their first Recycling Roundup in Robertson County, and they’re ready to take on a wide range of items. From electronics to mattresses, scrap metal to pet supplies, TEC is accepting a variety of materials for recycling. But that’s not all—secure paper shredding services will also be available on-site, ensuring your sensitive documents are disposed of safely. It’s time to declutter responsibly and contribute to a cleaner, greener community!

“Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC) is excited to host their first Recycling Roundup in Robertson County,” said Abby Schneider, TEC’s Recycle Tennessee Program Director. “Local residents and surrounding community members are encouraged to bring their hard-to-recycle items to Watauga Elementary School in Ridgetop on Saturday, May 11th, from 9 am to 1 pm.”

Visit tectn.org/ridgetoproundup for a detailed list of materials that will be accepted at the event, as well as any item limitations.

This event is one of many being organized by TEC, a statewide non-profit organization. TEC’s goal with these events is to reduce illegal dumping and litter across Tennessee, while reducing the public’s reliance on landfills. This event is free and open to all residents and is made possible through a partnership with TDOT (Tennessee Department of Transportation). Additional Roundups will take place this year through grant funding with TDOT as well as with funding from the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Stay tuned to TEC’s website and social media channels for the latest information.

Two volunteers will be chosen at random to receive a digital gift card to local refill store The Good Fill, or The Bee’s Knees.
