Teen Arrested After Multi-State Pursuit and Rollover Crash

SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – A multi-state pursuit that began in Kentucky ended in a dramatic rollover crash on Main Street in Springfield Saturday afternoon. This report updates our earlier traffic alert issued at the time of the crash. Subsequent research confirmed that the rollover was the tail end of the pursuit, the first call coming into 911 at 3:57 p.m. when Adairville Police entered Robertson County. Minutes later, at 4:03 p.m., the vehicle crashed on Main Street between the DMV and Chosen Towing, not far from Memorial Boulevard. LOCATION OF CRASH

According to Adairville Police, the incident began at 3:53 p.m. on November 29, 2025, when Adairville Police Chief Aaron Ashby observed a red 2002 Chevy Silverado traveling southbound on Highway 431 South while driving recklessly. Chief Ashby initiated a traffic stop near Smiths Grove Road, which is positioned near the Tennessee-Kentucky line. MAP

Police say the driver refused repeated commands to exit the vehicle. With the door locked, Ashby reached into the truck to unlock it. At that moment, the operator attempted to roll the window up on the officer’s arm, then placed the vehicle in drive and fled.

The operator crossed into Tennessee, fleeing for approximately ten miles. Once inside Robertson County, Springfield Police and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the truck using spike strips. The operator tried to avoid the strips and turned onto Main Street in Springfield, where he overcorrected, causing the truck to flip multiple times.

According to officials in Kentucky, (after the rollover crash), “The operator exited through the driver’s window and fled on foot.” Adairville K9 Officer Luna was deployed. At that time, Chief Ashby discovered that the suspect was a 17-year-old juvenile male. He was taken into custody without further incident.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle, and no other injuries were reported. Pending charges include wanton endangerment first degree on a police officer, fleeing and evading police second degree motor vehicle, fleeing and evading police second degree on foot, resisting arrest, and multiple traffic offenses. There are no pending charges out of Tennessee.

The juvenile was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital and then released to his guardian.

Adairville Police received assistance from Springfield Police and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office. Chosen Towing & Recovery was called to remove the vehicle, though it may have been the shortest tow on record—the crash occurred practically outside their front door.
