Tennessee Highway Patrol Captures Georgia Murder Suspect in Robertson County

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to Fox 17 Nashville, a man wanted in connection with a double homicide in Georgia has been taken into custody in Middle Tennessee. Smokey’s String Logic filters captured this story.

Gwinnett County Police say two people were found shot inside a vehicle near Harbins Road and Harbins Point in Lilburn, Georgia, shortly after 10 p.m. Friday. Both victims died at the scene.

A separate call led officers to Windscape Village Lane in Norcross, Georgia, where another man was found injured. Investigators later determined the two crime scenes were connected, Fox 17 Nashville reported.

During their investigation, police learned the suspect — identified as 54-year-old Javier Aragon Ruiz — was headed toward Tennessee.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol located Ruiz’s vehicle in Robertson County on Saturday morning and arrested him, according to police.

In Robertson County Ruiz is facing reckless driving, driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and being a fugitive from justice. No bond has been set.
