A Robertson County teen is making his mark serving our country.

Jaxson L. Sayle, 18, of Cedar Hill, has officially completed training with the United States Coast Guard on March 13, 2026, graduating with Company LIMA208 in Cape May, New Jersey.

A lifelong Cedar Hill resident, Sayle attended Jo Byrns schools and Penn Foster, graduating early at just 17 before entering the Coast Guard.

He has already been selected for his first assignment aboard the USCGC Eagle, a historic 295-foot sailing vessel based in New London, Connecticut. The Eagle, originally built in 1936, is one of only two active sailing ships in U.S. service and is used to train cadets around the world.

Sayle’s parents are Kerri Dozier of Cedar Hill and Kyle Sayle of Clarksville.

A big congratulations to Jaxson on this achievement and his service to the nation. Powered by Flowers615 in Springfield Tennessee

TRAFFIC ALERT: Kinneys Road at Pitt Road is currently open but will temporarily close to allow crews to remove a single-vehicle following a rollover crash.

According to Adams Fire Chief Donovan Tucker, the crash is non-injury. The driver exited the vehicle and walked away without injury.

Once the wrecker arrives, expect a brief road closure while the vehicle is removed. If you’re in the area, watch for first responders in the roadway and use extra caution around the tow truck operator. Powered by Bobbie Barbee - Exit Prime Realty

FACEBOOK POSTING GLITCH
WORK AROUND….
If you’re posting links from a desktop to a FAN PAGE, the preview might not click (no hand icon, or it tries ‘Send Message’ instead). Seems to be a desktop display issue only.
Workaround: Post the link from your phone (or any mobile device)—it works fine there. No glitch.
For old posts affected by the glitch: Just add a plain link in the text or comments—fixes it without deleting anything but the main graphic will remain dead unless you delete and repost.
Let us know if you got caught by the bug too! And for our readers: If you’re having trouble clicking a story, head straight to smokybarn.com and search for what you need.

INTERESTING MOON TONIGHT— Look WEST! We have a waxing crescent moon, just a thin sliver, with a cool effect called “Earthshine.” That faint glow on the dark side is sunlight reflecting off Earth and softly lighting the rest of the moon. This happens in the days just after a new moon when the geometry lines up just right. The moon will be low in the western sky after sunset and heading down, so don’t wait. ... See MoreSee Less
