Interstate Rescue: Pup Safe After Owner Injured In I-65 Crash

ROBERTSON SCHOOLS OPENING ONE OUR LATE FRIDAY.

A message from Danny Weeks, Director of Robertson County Schools: Robertson County Schools will open one hour later than usual on Friday, May 10, due to road issues.

Bus drivers will use discretion, especially on flooded roads. For specific questions about your route, please contact our transportation office.

Daycare will operate at its normal time.

SINKHOLE ALERT

We have a report of a sinkhole in the road at Youngville Rd & Ralph Fisher Rd west of Orlinda. Crews en route, drive with care.

🚨Shelter Information🚨 The following shelter has been opened for those impacted by the severe weather incident from yesterday, May 8, 2024:

Robertson County Fairgrounds – 4635 US-41 Springfield, TN 37172.

Pets will be allowed and teams from the American Red Cross will be present for assistance.

I-65 TRAFFIC ALERT 2:30 PM: We have a semi versus tow truck on I-65 south at the 102 near Millersville. Listed as an injury crash, it’s already causing significant traffic congestion. We’re going to recommend that you seek an alternative route. According to Millersville PD, one person was transported to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

STARKS RD WATER RESCUE UPDATE

Robertson County EMS Director Brent Dyer gives a rundown of the Starks Road water rescue in Orlinda. The White House Community Volunteer Fire Department, the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, and the Orlinda Fire Department all participated in the rescue.

FIRST RESPONDER UPDATE
Our First Responders are running on minimal sleep. Currently engaged in two water rescues, a crash on I65, along with addressing multiple fallen trees, flooded roads, and regular medical calls. They got all of 2 hours of rest overnight before the next wave of calls started coming in. If you can, stay off the roads.

POWER OUTAGES

The power grid in Robertson County remains intact. CEMC and Springfield utility workers have been diligently reducing the number of affected customers, bringing it down to just south of 300. Sumner County, the hardest hit, has about 4,344 customers affected.

TREES DOWN

Were getting numerous reports of trees down.

Another Water Rescue 3 AM
We have another report of a water rescue in progress at Starks Road near Highway 52 in Cross Plains. Reportedly, the water is up to the driver’s dash and the vehicle is pushed up against trees. MAP This incident represents one of two ongoing water rescues happening right now.

ALERT 2:30 AM
We have another water rescue on Cross Plains Rd near Ben Garrison Rd. MAP Driver trapped in the road in about 3 feet of water.
