The Tongue Twister Tractor Trailer Wreck

The driver of a truck pulling a tractor on a trailer just before noon Monday had a bit of a scare when the trailer broke free. The tractor went one way and the trailer went another. The trailer hit a tree and the tractor crashed through a fence on Old Greenbrier Pike in Springfield, TN.  Luckily there were no injuries.

The situation was somewhat problematic to explain and understand over the radio because it was a tractor and a trailer, it sounds a lot like tractor trailer which of course is a great big semi truck. One firefighter told Smokey he did believe it was a tractor trailer that had gone off the roadway for a minute or so. Once the first emergency personnel arrived they radioed  ‘Signal 9 – Signal 9’ , it’s a trailer that broke free from a truck hauling a tractor on a tralier.  ‘Signal 9’  means every thing’s cool, no further assistance is needed.
