UPDATE: Monday September 23 2013

According to Orlinda Fire Chief Dusty Johnson, he and the Nashville investigator met at the site this morning (Monday September 23) at 8:00AM and concluded that there was just not enough left of the structure to conclusively prove arson. Without some proof the fire is being classified as an accident.

A tobacco barn in Cross Plains is a total loss after a fire that broke out just after noon Sunday. The barn is located at 5050 Bell Rd near the intersection of Bell Rd and Friendship Rd in Cross Plains. The owner Paul Bell said he feels the fire seems suspicious and believes that arson is a possibility. The fire is under investigation. This is the 3rd tobacco barn fire in just over a week in Robertson County.
