THP Investigates Fatal Crash On Old Coopertown Rd
COOPERTOWN TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Springfield family is mourning the loss of a family member that died in a fatal crash on Old Coopertown Rd near Martins Chapel Rd Thursday morning.
Old Coopertown Rd was closed for several hours while the Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the crash. (location of crash) The first call came into 911 at 10:52am.
The THP is now releasing the names of the victims and some preliminary information about the crash. According to the THP, the vehicle, a 2006 GMC, was traveling East on Old Coopertown Rd. when it failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a tree and rolled over landing upside-down.
Renai Beachy, 55, of Springfield did not survive the crash. Titus Beachy, 54, also of Springfield, who was driving the vehicle, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville in critical condition. According to Captain Trey Nelms with the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department, Titus had to be extricated from the mangled vehicle.
According to the THP , drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
According to her on-line obituary, Renai Hiebert Beachy was the General Manager of Jarrett Concrete Products in Ashland City and was a member of Flewellyn Baptist Church. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
