UPDATE: THP Releases Info On Deadly Greenbrier Head-On Crash

GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Following a deadly head-on crash in Greenbrier early Saturday morning, the Tennessee Highway Patrol is now releasing the identities of the individuals involved.

According to the THP, the two-vehicle crash took the life of one and injured four.

The accident occurred around 3:45 AM Saturday near Lights Chapel Road. MAP

In a release obtained by Smokey Barn News, the Tennessee Highway Patrol indicates that Steven L. Rowe, 28, of Pleasant View, was traveling North on Highway 41, when his vehicle, a 2005 Kia Spectra, crossed the center-lane and into Southbound traffic. Rowe’s vehicle struck a 2007 Honda Element (SUV) with four occupants, head-on.

Rowe did not survive and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Robertson County EMS..

Passengers of the Honda, Marlie Ford, 19, Perry Ford, 18, Chase Hampton, 19, all from of Greenbrier, with Erica Tackett, 19, of Hendersonville at the wheel, were all injured and transported to area hospitals, one by medical helicopter which landed on Hwy 41 near the scene.

According to the THP, of the total involved in the crash, including Rowe, three of the four teens in the Honda were wearing safety restraints.

The initial THP report makes no mention as to why Rowe drifted into oncoming traffic and there was no mention of drugs or alcohol or charges. As soon as more information becomes available we will bring it to you.

Highway 41 between Greenbrier and Springfield near the crash site was closed for several hours Saturday morning while the victims were treated and removed and the THP conducted their investigation.

The thoughts and prayers of the staff at Smokey Barn News are with the families of everyone involved as they face the days, weeks and months ahead.

Hwy 41 Re-Opens Following Fatal Crash Near Greenbrier

GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) -Highway 41 between Greenbrier and Springfield was closed for several hours Saturday morning due to a multi-vehicle fatal accident.

The crash involved two vehicles, a total of four people from one vehicle were transported to area hospitals including one by medical helicopter. The helicopter landed on Hwy 41.  A single occupant in a second vehicle did not survive and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The accident occurred around 3:45 AM near Lights Chapel Road. MAP As soon as we have more information, including the identity of the victims and a cause of the crash, we will bring it to you.
