Tractor Accident Takes One Life In Greenbrier

GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Smokey Barn News has confirmed that a 76 year old Greenbrier man has died in a tragic tractor accident this afternoon. The accident occurred near South Mt Pleasant and Bethel Rd around 2:30pm.

According to Robertson County Emergency Medical Services Assistant Director Russell Gupton, the victim is identified as Johnnie “Houston” Jones, 76, of Greenbrier. Officials tell Smokey that Jones did not live at the address of the accident. He was using a bush-Hog on land owned by a friend.

Gupton told Smokey Barn News that Jones’ wife was at the home waiting for him to finish up when she heard a noise and went to check on him.

According to Millersville Police Chief David Hindman, there was a mound hidden in the tall grass that snagged the tractor throwing Jones off. When he fell off he became trapped under the rear large wheel of the tractor.

The Millersville police department as well as the Millersville Fire Department, Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, Robertson EMS and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.

Houston was a Realtor with Haven Real Estate. He attended East High School in Nashville and was a member of Walker United Methodist Church. For Houston’s full Obituary click here.
