TRAFFIC ALERT 49 Near Coopertown Fatal Crash

Officials tell Smokey Barn News that the crash involves loss of life.
The crash involves a passenger car and a tractor-trailer hauling aluminum cans in a head-on collision.
The crash occurred around 8 am.
UPDATE:
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is now releasing more information about the crash and the identity of the gentleman that lost his life. The victim is identified as Donald Griffin JR, 49, of Clarksville driving a 2004 Ford Fusion.
According to the THP accident investigator, Griffin, traveling North on Hwy 49, crossed the center line in his Ford Fusion and collided head-on with the Tractor Trailer heading South. Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Tractor Trailer was not injured in the crash.
The roadway was cleared around 1:30 pm.
