Train VS Minivan Collision Shuts Down Greenbrier Crossings
GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE – A train and a minivan collided in Greenbrier Sunday afternoon, the crash occurring at the Lights Chapel Road railroad crossing, the first call coming into 911 just before 1:30 p.m.
The train impacted the rear of the minivan, pushing it into a ditch on the Highway 41 side of the tracks. The tracks parallel between Highway 41 and Old Greenbrier Pike. Despite colliding with a train, the vehicle appeared in relatively good shape. Fortunately, the driver, and the single occupant of the van, was not injured.
Greenbrier Fire Department, Greenbrier Police, and Robertson County EMS, and Drake’s Towing all responded to the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Greenbrier Police. The train, operated by CSX Transportation, blocked local intersections for about an hour while the crash was investigated.
