Trick or Treat Forecast: Timing Of Rain, Flood Watches & Indoor Events

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to the US National Weather Service Nashville Tennessee, latest models are showing a “slowing” trend with the onset of rain, which could allow for additional trick-or-treating time (more candy for the kids = more for the adults to eat too!).

The current forecast for when rain will begin in 4-hour ranges is shown on the graphic!

Forecast rainfall Wed. through Fri. AM remains around 1-4″ for much of the area, w/ locally higher amounts north of I-40 and along/west of I-65. Rain/storms could be heavy at times Halloween night, especially across the northwest. Stay weather aware if trick-or-treating tomorrow!

After Trick OR Treating… (Late Wednesday into Thursday)

Flood watch in effect from late Wednesday night through late Thursday night. The national weather service in Nashville has issued a flood watch for a portion of middle Tennessee, including the following areas:

Robertson, Cheatham, Dickson, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Perry,  and Stewart.

From late Wednesday night through late Thursday night: showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are expected, and total rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with locally higher totals are possible. Some flooding is possible on roads, low lying and poor drainage areas, and along creeks and streams.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Locally heavy rain expected Wednesday night and Thursday. A strong storm system is expected to bring numerous showers and thunderstorms to middle Tennessee from Wednesday night through the day on Thursday. The heaviest rainfall is expected over northwest middle Tennessee where 2 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts could fall. This rainfall may cause some flooding issues on roads, creeks and streams, mainly from late Wednesday night into Thursday.
