Two Escape Serious Injury After Utility Pole Crash
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Officials tell Smokey Barn News that it was “miraculous” that a driver of a small passenger vehicle with a small child were not seriously injured after their vehicle struck a utility pole head-on.
The crash occurred Thursday afternoon around 1 pm in front of the CO-OP on Memorial Blvd at the intersection of Academy Dr. near Rod’s Tire in Springfield.
Officials say the vehicle’s impact with the utility pole tore a transformer lo0se sending it into the roadway. A passing Dump truck then became entangled in the dangling mess of down lines as it passed.
The driver of the passenger vehicle and one small child were not injured and refused medical treatment at the scene. “It was a miracle they were not injured,” officials said.
Officials say the crash caused considerable damage to utility based service lines and there may be some interruption of phone and electric service in the area until crews are able to make repairs.
The Springfield Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, the Springfield Police Department and Springfield Electric all responded to the scene.
