Two Fires Back To Back In Millersville Keep Crews Busy Thursday Night

MILLERSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Millersville had its hands full Thursday night with two fires that occurred simultaneously just after 9:30PM. The first fire was a tractor trailer hauling a coal derivative called “coke.” The call came in at 9:40pm at about the 103 mile marker on Interstate-65. The coke was being transported “hot” and apparently it got too hot and burned a hole in the bed of the truck. For about two or three miles the truck was releasing small amounts of the coke along I-65 starting small fires, according to Millersville Fire Chief Tomas King.

Just 9 minutes later a second call came in about a fire  located at an apartment complex on Lewis Dr. Fire crews did a great job keeping the fire contained to one unit and no one was seriously injured in either incident, according to Lt. Loy with the Millersville Fire Deportment. The freeway was cleared around 11:30PM.
