Two Injured in Head-On Rollover Crash on Hwy 52
ORLINDA, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Two people were transported to area hospitals following a head-on rollover collision in Orlinda, Monday afternoon. The crash left both vehicles heavily damaged, according to Orlinda Fire Chief Patrick Darrow.
The crash occurred on Hwy 52 just before the I65 Northbound on ramp, the first call coming into 911 at 11:52 am. LOCATION OF CRASH
The crash involved a passenger car and a pickup truck pulling a small trailer. After impact, the pickup truck and trailer rolled, coming to rest off the roadway. The driver of the pickup was an adult male, and the passenger vehicle was occupied by an adult female.
Chief Darrow said that considering the mechanism of impact and the severity of damage to both vehicles, both occupants were extremely fortunate not to have sustained more serious or life-threatening injuries. Both were transported with serious injuries; however, the injuries were not considered life-threatening or critical, even though the driver of the pickup was reportedly ejected from the vehicle.
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Cross Plains Police Department, the Orlinda Fire Department, and Robertson County EMS all responded to the crash. The roadway was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. The cause of the crash was not immediately available, and no further updates on the condition of the occupants were available at the time of publication.
