Two Rollover Crashes In Less Than An Hour Friday Afternoon
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – One person was transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield in stable condition Friday afternoon following a rollover crash involving two vehicles.
According to Springfield Police the two vehicles collided as the driver of the sedan (inverted) was attempting to turn onto Dogwood Rd off of 5th Ave. MAP
The accident occurred around 2:15pm Friday afternoon. Traffic on 5th Ave was stop and go for about 30 minutes while police investigated the accident and crews removed the vehicles and cleaned up the scene.
According to Springfield Police, after the collision the sedan spun around and landed upside down in a ditch. The driver (and only occupant) was transported but, according to police, did not sustain life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported in the crash and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The Springfield Fire Department, the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, Robertson County EMS and Springfield Police all responded to the crash.
Just minutes later, first responders were called to another rollover crash in Robertson County. It was a single vehicle crash involving an SUV. The crash occurred on Maxey Rd near Turnersville Rd. MAP in the Cedar Hill area.
According to officials, the driver, a female, (and sole occupant of the single vehicle crash) received only minor injuries. Officials tell Smokey Barn News that the driver was wearing her seatbelt which may account for her lack of serious injuries. No word on a cause of the crash at this time.
