UPDATE: RC Senior Center Re-Opening Plan…
ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – As the Senior Center sits empty in the wake of COVID-19, a new love and appreciation for times shared there floods the mind. Knowing that one day soon the laughter and joy and (yes) even a hug will be back before you know it maintains the spirit.
Per Governor Lee’s executive order #38 the Senior center will remain closed through June 30, 2020. A determination to remain closed or reopen in July will be made and shared as soon as it becomes available.
All of us at the Senior center miss and hope that everyone is healthy and staying safe.
A personal message from Beth, Executive Director…
“These are at best scary times. I find myself hovering between fear and hope. Please remember – you are not alone! You may call me anytime at 615-516-9413. If I am able, I will certainly try to help in anyway possible.
I am working on a new Facebook page And hope to have it up and going soon! Watch for updates!
I miss seeing you all, the programs, the classes. Especially the rhythm, energy and the smiles we all seem to share.
We are working on our reopening plan. Things may look and be quite different for a while. Social distancing, temperatures took as you enter and throughout the day, masks, limited activities/programs, remote Internet classes, limited hours etc. is just a glimpse as to what our new normal may look like in order to return.
But we look forward to the day when we can get safely back together and that day WILL come!

Board Nominations Open…
Nominations from the Robertson County Senior center membership will be accepted until noon Thursday, June 11 for 2 full-term (3 year) board members.
You are welcome to nominate yourself or someone else… please make sure you have the permission and commitment if elected secured from the nominee.
Due to the COVID-19 closure this year, we are unable to offer a nomination box as usual. However, nominee forms may be emailed to: Robertson County Senior center attention: Nomination Committee to 601 Locust St., Springfield TN 37172 or emailed to the nomination committee: Keith’[email protected] or [email protected]
Nomination Committee nominees will be: George Hatcher and Paula Hunsaker
All nominations including those nominated by the nominating committee will be voted on by full board at June 11 board meeting.
Newly elected members will be notified prior to the July board meeting by the current board.
