VIDEO: Cedar Hill Home Destroyed By Fire Friday Night

CEDAR HILL TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Cedar Hill home is a total loss after a fire tore through the structure Friday night.

The home is located on Turnersville Rd about halfway between Hwy 49 and 256. MAP The first call came into 911 just before midnight Friday night.

According to Assistant Fire Chief Mike Cooper with the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department, the home did have electrical service but it’s unclear if anyone was currently living in the home (in any case) officials don’t believe that anyone was home at the time of the fire. The homeowner has been located and was en route to the home at the time of this report. The cause of the fire is unclear and under investigation but Chief Cooper stopped short of calling the fire suspicious. The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office will lead the investigation.

According to officials, the fire was first reported by a passerby around 11:49 pm Friday night. With no one home at the time of the fire coupled with the rural nature of the home’s location meant the fire had a good head start before it was seen. When firefighters arrived the home was already a fireball.

The Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department, the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department with the aid of the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, Robertson County EMS,  and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.

Given the home’s proximity to a large wooded area, firefighters worked throughout the night making sure the fire didn’t spread.

This is a developing story,  Smokey Barn News will maintain an open channel with officials as they make their way through the investigation. As more information is released we will bring it to you.
