VIDEO: Family Displaced After Car Crashes Into Home

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A vehicle crashed into a Springfield home Monday evening causing so much damage to the structure that the Fire Department deemed the house unlivable.

The incident occurred on Westwind Dr at Teresa Ln just before 11 pm Monday evening. MAP One official told Smokey Barn News that the damage was more than they had ever seen with this type of accident. The vehicle struck the front of the home with enough force to cause the damage to propagate all the way to the back of the home.

The Springfield Fire Department deemed the home unsafe and had the power turned off. The family will need to find other accommodations until the home can be repaired.

Reportedly the driver first struck a brick mailbox on an adjacent street before crashing into the home. The person was taken into custody at the scene but any charges they may face were not immediately available.  Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

If the family decides to reach out to the community with any needs that they may have we will certainly bring them to you.

The Springfield Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, and the Springfield Police Department all responded to the scene.
